Constance Flore

Constance Flore
Left 4 x 2 x 3.5
Middle 6 x 2.5 x 3.5
Right 5 x 2.25 x 4.5
Constance Flore is a symbolic and depictive reference of growth and life itself. We are always growing, and our life cycles match very similarly to botanicals. We start out very small and continue growing until we have reached our full growth, where we then begin to wilt and decay, remaining beautiful throughout the entire process. The figures in this piece are referencing three stages of growth. The first figure, being the youngest, is stocky, short and squat. Its flowers have not yet bloomed and matured to full blossoms yet. The second figure, representing adulthood, is fully bloomed displaying Contrapasso, commonly found in adult statues and figurative art. The last floral hybrid is symbolizing the elder stage of life. It is hunched over, with flowers wilting, with its hand reaching out as an offering of help and or acceptance.
