Life is about relationships, the resolved & unresolved…
Nightmare represents the internal struggle to resolve the unresolved in relationships that haunt our subconscious. It could be the relationship with ourselves, work, partner, spouse, family, friends, environment, society… The labyrinth lace work depicts our fragile strength to hold ourselves together in the midst of external turmoil.
This glass piece sprang out of my subconscious during Covid Lockdowns.
It began with a self portrait charcoal drawing that needed to find its way onto glass.
I was shut out of my glass studio…stuck without a way to create from glass until my Department Head sent us Modeling Glass in the mail. I was immediately drawn to its textural possibilities to depict the internal energies of our subconscious.
